If you've spent years wondering why your relationships feel hard, why you struggle to trust, or why certain patterns keep repeating — there may be deeper roots worth exploring.
Drea Cook is a relational trauma therapist based in Tennessee who specializes in complex PTSD, attachment wounds, and identity development. She works with adults and couples who are ready to do the deeper work of healing emotional pain, shifting long-held self-beliefs, and cultivating more connected and authentic relationships. Drea brings over a decade of clinical experience across college counseling, recovery-focused care, and private practice.
She is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through Level 2, with additional training in Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO), EMDR (Levels 1 & 2), and Attachment-Focused EMDR. Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed, attachment-based, and parts-oriented care. In addition to her clinical work, Drea supports multiple IFS and IFIO trainings and is passionate about bringing parts work into supervision, consultation, and community healing spaces.
Drea is currently completing her PhD in Clinical Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University, where her research explores how early emotional connection with caregivers impacts one's sense of self and confidence in romantic relationships.
Drea creates a calm, relational space where clients can slow down, turn inward, and explore the roots of their emotional pain. She believes that we are both hurt and healed in relationships, and her work supports clients in building trust within themselves and developing more secure and connected ways of being with others and within. Her approach is especially meaningful for those navigating complex relational histories, attachment wounds, or legacy burdens that have shaped how they relate to themselves and the world around them.
Outside of the therapy room, Drea enjoys exploring Nashville with friends and family, discovering new local eateries, getting lost in a good fiction book, or relaxing with cozy games like Stardew Valley, Fae Farm, or The Sims. She centers compassion, curiosity, and connection in her work, trusting that these foundations support meaningful and lasting change.
